Terms of Service
Last updated October 2026
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between Bookline ("Bookline", "we", "us") and the person or business that creates an account or uses our services ("you", "your"). They cover your use of the Bookline website, dashboard, booking widget, AI call agent, SMS features, API and any related services (together, the "Services"). By creating an account, starting a trial or using the Services, you agree to these Terms.
2. The Services
Bookline is booking software for trades and service businesses. Depending on your plan, the Services let you take online bookings, publish a booking page and widget, answer missed calls with an AI call agent, send and receive SMS, take payments through Stripe, and manage appointments, locations and services. We may add, change or remove features over time.
3. Eligibility and your account
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your login details secure, and for everything done under your account. Tell us promptly at hello@bookline.app if you suspect unauthorised use. The information you give us must be accurate and kept up to date.
4. Plans, fees and billing
- Plans and limits. Each plan includes a set of features and monthly usage allowances (for example a number of SMS messages or AI calls). Current plans and prices are shown on our pricing page.
- Fair use. Allowances exist because some features rely on paid third-party services (such as SMS and voice). If you reach an allowance, we may pause that feature for the rest of the billing period or ask you to upgrade. We do not sell allowances you have already used.
- Trials. Free trials run for the stated period and convert to a paid plan only if you choose to subscribe.
- Payment and renewal. Paid subscriptions are billed in advance through our payment processor and renew automatically each period until cancelled. Prices are exclusive of VAT or sales tax unless stated.
- Cancellation. You can cancel at any time; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Except where the law requires otherwise, fees already paid are non-refundable.
- Changes. We may change prices or plans on reasonable notice; changes take effect at your next renewal.
5. Payments to you (Stripe)
If you take payments from your customers through Bookline, those payments are processed by Stripe and are subject to Stripe's own terms. You are responsible for your Stripe account, for the goods and services you sell, and for any refunds, chargebacks or disputes with your customers. Bookline is not a party to the contract between you and your customers.
6. Your data and your customers' data
You keep ownership of the content and data you put into the Services, including details of your customers and their bookings ("Customer Data"). For Customer Data, you act as the data controller and we act as your processor, handling it on your instructions to provide the Services. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data.
You are responsible for having a lawful basis and, where required, the consent to contact your customers — including by SMS, phone and the AI call agent — and for complying with marketing and communication laws that apply to you (for example PECR in the UK, or the TCPA and applicable state laws in the US). You must not upload data you have no right to use.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Services to: break the law; send spam or unlawful messages; infringe others' rights; upload malware; attempt to gain unauthorised access, probe or disrupt the Services; resell the Services without our permission; or misuse the AI features (for example to deceive or impersonate). We may investigate suspected misuse and take appropriate action.
8. AI features
The AI call agent and related features generate summaries, transcripts and suggested responses automatically. They can make mistakes, so you should review important output before relying on it. You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content, and for telling callers that a call may be handled or recorded by an automated system where the law requires it.
9. Third-party services
The Services work with third parties such as Google, Stripe, SMS and voice providers and AI providers. Your use of those services may be subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for them. If a third party changes or withdraws its service, some features may change or stop working.
10. Intellectual property and the booking widget
We and our licensors own the Services and all related intellectual property. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Services while your account is active. The booking widget may display a "Powered by Bookline" credit; you agree not to remove it unless your plan allows. You grant us the limited rights needed to host and display your content so we can provide the Services.
11. Availability
We work to keep the Services available and reliable, but we do not guarantee they will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may carry out maintenance and may suspend the Services where necessary, trying to limit disruption where we reasonably can.
12. Warranties and liability
The Services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud). Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profits, revenue, data or goodwill, and our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid us in that period.
13. Indemnity
You agree to cover reasonable losses we suffer from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Services, or your handling of your customers' data in breach of your legal obligations.
14. Suspension and termination
You can stop using the Services and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms, fail to pay, or put the Services, us or others at risk. On termination your right to use the Services ends; we may delete your data after a reasonable period, subject to our Privacy Policy and any legal duty to keep records.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to let you know. Continuing to use the Services after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, except where mandatory local law gives you other rights.
